Rambling Buddha LLC ("we", "our" or "us") makes mobile and Mac apps and runs this website. This policy explains what information our apps and website handle. The short version: our apps collect no personal data, and our website uses cookieless, aggregate visitor statistics. MacAmp 2000 has optional online lookups, described below.
1. Our apps
Our apps, Rambling BuDDha: Zen Zoom, BuDDhaCalc and MacAmp 2000, do not collect personal information. They contain no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs, they don't use accounts or sign-in, and we don't run servers that receive data from them. Everything they store stays on your device. MacAmp 2000's optional online features, which talk directly to third-party services rather than to us, are described in its section below.
Rambling BuDDha: Zen Zoom
Zen Zoom saves your game progress on your device only: karma, scores and lifetime stats, achievements, the garden pieces you own, your settings, and whether you have unlocked the Full Journey. This data is not synced to any cloud service, and uninstalling the game deletes it. The game plays offline and only connects to the internet when you use your app store's purchase or restore flow.
Rambling BuDDha: Pix Perfect
Pix Perfect collects no personal data and has no accounts, ads or analytics. It has its own privacy policy: Pix Perfect privacy policy.
BuDDhaCalc
BuDDhaCalc stores your theme preference, calculator memory value, EULA acceptance and your most recent 50 calculations on your device. If you have Android device backup turned on, Android may include this in your device backup, which is stored in your own Google account and is not accessible to us.
When you choose Copy, the app places the displayed number or calculation on your clipboard. When you choose Paste, it reads the clipboard once to insert a number. It never reads the clipboard at any other time.
MacAmp 2000
MacAmp 2000 stores its preferences, media library index and caches on your Mac only (in ~/Library/Preferences/com.macamp2000.player.plist, ~/Library/Application Support/MacAmp2000 and ~/Library/Caches/MacAmp2000). It has no analytics, no tracking and no account.
A few optional features connect to third-party services. Each can be switched off, and none of them send anything to us:
- Album-art lookup sends the artist, album and track title to Apple's iTunes Search, MusicBrainz and the Cover Art Archive.
- Lyrics lookup sends the artist, title, album and track length to LRCLIB.
- ListenBrainz scrobbling is off until you add your own ListenBrainz token. Once enabled, it sends the tracks you play to your ListenBrainz account.
Those services handle the data under their own privacy policies. MacAmp 2000 is free and has no purchases.
2. In-app purchases
Zen Zoom offers one optional in-app purchase, the Full Journey. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own privacy policies. We never receive your name, payment details or account information; the app only receives confirmation from the store that the purchase is owned. On Android this uses the Google Play Billing library; on iOS it uses Apple's StoreKit.
3. This website
Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they read. It does not use cookies or local storage, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track you across other sites. It records things like the page visited, the referring site, and your browser, device type and country.
Hosting. The website is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Like any web server, it processes standard request information such as your IP address and browser in order to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse.
No cookies, no forms. The website sets no cookies and has no forms or accounts.
Email. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
4. Children's privacy
Our apps are suitable for all ages and do not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
5. Your rights
Because our apps don't collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can remove all app data at any time by uninstalling the app. If you've emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, just ask.
We aim to comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
6. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
